Why Daily Updates Matter (And What We Send)

When you’re away from your cat, even for a short trip, it’s the little things that can ease your mind. A photo. A message. A note that says, “They just napped in their usual spot.”

That’s why at Club Lumo, daily updates are essential.

Let’s look at why daily updates matter, what they should include, and how they help both cat and owner.

Why Daily Updates Matter In Cat Sitting

Cats are subtle. They don’t bark for attention or wag their tail. That’s why a sitter’s observations and the way they’re shared are critical.

For you, the owner:

  • Updates reduce anxiety and let you enjoy your trip
  • They confirm routines are being followed
  • They act as a log of care and wellbeing

For your cat:

  • Sitters pay closer attention when they know they’re reporting back
  • Cats benefit from calm, predictable interaction and routines
  • Health or behaviour changes are spotted early

“Knowing my sitter noticed that my cat didn’t touch her food and then did 30 minutes later helped me relax. It showed attention.”

What We Include in Every Update

Each visit report we send includes:

  • ✅ Confirmation of visit and sitter name
  • 🍽️ Food & water status (what was eaten, anything skipped)
  • 💩 Litter box notes (used normally? anything unusual?)
  • 🐾 Behaviour summary (greeting, energy level, hiding or relaxed)
  • 📸 1–3 photos of your cat during the visit (with timestamps)
  • 💬 Optional notes: “Played with wand toy for 10 mins, then napped.”

We send updates via your preferred channel—typically WhatsApp or Telegram with an option for email summaries.

“The best updates feel personal. Not a checklist, but a moment shared.”

What Daily Updates Are Not

  • They are not surveillance. We don’t send 24/7 footage.
  • They are not curated or sugar-coated—we report what we see.
  • They are not just photos. Substance matters.

A Story: One Update That Changed Everything

In one case, a sitter noticed a normally energetic cat seemed lethargic. She noted reduced appetite and slight swelling near the jaw. The owner was alerted immediately, and the vet confirmed an early-stage abscess. Quick intervention saved a serious complication.

“That’s when I knew we weren’t just paying for visits—we were paying for attention.”

Final Thought

A great cat sitting service doesn’t disappear when you close the door. It stays present, every day, with thoughtful updates that show—not just tell—that your cat is okay.

At Club Lumo, we treat updates like part of the care. Because when you’re away, peace of mind is everything.

If you'd like to know what our updates would look like for your cat, get in touch, we’re happy to show you.
