What We Bring to Every Visit (Besides Treats!)

Not all cat sitting visits look the same but they should all feel the same: calm, predictable, and reassuring. At Club Lumo, our sitters bring more than treats. They bring structure, observation, and a little bit of magic.

Here’s what we carry with us—physically and mentally each time we visit your cat.

1. Supplies (Just in Case)

We always respect your cat’s setup—but we come prepared too. Our basic kit includes:

  • Spare food/water bowls (sterile and collapsible)
  • Latex-free gloves and antibacterial wipes
  • Extra litter liners, scoop, and odour control bags
  • Treats (only if permitted)
  • A clean towel for emergencies or grooming

“We once found a toppled water bowl and a damp mat. We cleaned up, replaced everything, and left a note. The client never even had to ask.”
Yana, Club Lumo co-founder

2. Your Cat’s Routine and Care Notes

No two visits are identical because no two cats are. Before entering, sitters review:

  • Your instructions (feeding, litter, hiding spots)
  • Previous visit notes (any behavioural changes?)
  • Medication schedules, if applicable

We don’t wing it. We read, prepare, and act intentionally.

3. A Calm and Focused Presence

Cats notice energy. We enter every home with:

  • Quiet steps and calm body language
  • Respect for the cat’s pace (no chasing or coaxing)
  • Sensitivity to sound, scent, and space

“Cats don’t need us to entertain them. They need us to respect their world.”
International Cat Care

4. Tools for Observation and Updates

We treat every visit as a chance to observe, not just perform tasks. We bring:

  • Our update system (for logging food, litter, mood, and photos)
  • A mental checklist for health signs (gait, appetite, grooming)
  • A camera or phone for photos—always on silent

Daily updates are a log of your cat's wellbeing.

5. Contingency Awareness

Even the calmest visits can turn unpredictable. That’s why sitters are trained to:

  • Look for signs of distress or illness
  • Know emergency vet locations by area
  • Contact you or your backup contact immediately if needed

Preparedness is part of peace of mind.

6. Respect

The most important thing we bring? Respect—for your home, your routine, and your cat’s individuality.

We:

  • Leave everything as we found it
  • Observe boundaries (e.g. no entering closed rooms)
  • Never force interaction—affection is earned

“Our sitter greeted my cat like a friend, not a project. That made all the difference.”
Club Lumo client testimonial (2025)
